We want to amplify Indigenous stories and perspectives in the Okanagan

APTN and The Discourse are joining forces to develop independent digital media focused on community-driven storytelling.

APTN and The Discourse have been talking about how to develop a new model for local Indigenous news since March of 2018. Now, supported by funding from the Local News Journalism Initiative, we’re launching a new outlet in the Okanagan.

Our goal is to provide journalism that serves and is driven by what you say you want. We’re starting by listening and are incredibly grateful to all of those who take the time to share their perspective by answering the following questions. Your responses will help us develop the new website, decide what stories to tell, and determine how we can best serve you. We take your privacy seriously. While we will be sharing about the overall themes and issues we learn about, we won’t share your name, specific details or information publicly (more on our privacy policy here).

Tell us what you think

  • Do you reach for a local paper? Go on Facebook? Check instagram? Listen to the radio? Watch the news? Get a newsletter?
If so, we'll send you an email.
  • Thank you so much for taking the time to answer these questions. We really value your time and will connect with you again soon.

Double your impact today!

Your contribution to The Discourse's independent journalism will be matched, up to $10,000.
