Your election questions, answered
The Discourse asked what questions you have for local candidates. Because many of you cited the rising cost of living as a top issue, we reached out to the candidates and asked about their plans for affordability, housing and childcare.
We also sent some of your questions, across a variety of issues, to the candidates for written response. Here’s what we heard:
- Do the candidates support a minimum income?
- How will Esquimalt-Metchosin candidates attract and keep family doctors?
- Will Esquimalt-Metchosin candidates continue income assistance post-COVID-19?
- What will Esquimalt-Metchosin candidates do for youth in care?
- What will Esquimalt-Metchosin candidates do to lower taxes?
- How will Esquimalt-Metchosin candidates protect forests?
- How will Esquimalt-Metchosin candidates increase mental health and housing services?
- How will Esquimalt-Metchosin candidates handle the upcoming recession?
